Virtual Design Services

What it is…

What it isn’t…

Free
Our package pricing covers the design services—but furniture and materials are a separate cost. While we love a good “splurge and save” approach, furnishing an entire room for $1,500 likely won’t cut it. For a more realistic breakdown, check out our suggested budget ranges below.

Done in a Day
While our process is efficient, it’s also thoughtful—and that takes time. Between planning, sourcing, and curating collections, most projects take 4–12 weeks depending on our current workload. We’ll check in weekly to keep you informed, even during quieter periods. Rest assured, we’re crafting something special during those in-between days.

For Contractor Ready Plans
Our drawings are design concepts—not construction-ready blueprints. They provide clear direction for your contractor or on-site team, who will need to verify dimensions and develop any additional construction plans. Always consult your build professional before finalizing any construction decisions.

Shopping
We start with what you already own and love—and build from there. If you’ve found something you’re excited about, we’re happy to guide you on incorporating it. To streamline the process, we’ve eliminated constant back-and-forth shopping. Instead, we present thoughtful selections for your approval, veto, or feedback, ensuring everything works together seamlessly.

For DIY Lovers and Deal Divers
We support budget-conscious design and will equip you with dimensions, sourcing directions, and a detailed shopping list—perfect for independent deal-hunting. While we love Craigslist, we don’t source from there directly due to sellout risks and safety concerns. For vintage pieces, we use trusted online sources like Etsy and eBay.

We don’t provide detailed DIY instructions, but your final To-Go Box will include basic execution notes and our best-practice tips for successful implementation.

Virtual Design Might Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Have reliable internet access (check!), can confidently upload photos/videos, and feel comfortable using a tape measure.

  • Are inspired and ready to share your style—whether through Pinterest boards, saved images, or any other visual references.

  • Are prepared to act as your own shopper, project manager, and on-site communicator for any construction or installations.

  • Are handy, know someone who is, or are open to hiring the right help when needed.

  • Value efficient virtual communication and are able to provide timely feedback throughout the process.

  • Feel comfortable making purchases independently—either without physical samples or by ordering them yourself.

  • Prefer a lot of back-and-forth before committing to choices.

  • Prefer to see physical samples before making selections.

  • Don’t have the time or capacity to manage deliveries or scheduling.

  • Need hands-on installation support (though white glove services and receiving warehouses may be available in your area).

  • Feel uneasy communicating with contractors or tradespeople directly.

  • Are looking for someone to visit your space, take measurements, and place orders on your behalf.

Let’s Talk Budget Transparency

One of the biggest perks of our E-Design service? Our design fees remain the same—regardless of your budget—so we’re happy to source within any price range: all budget-friendly, a high/low mix (our favorite), or full-on splurge. The choice is yours.

When we do have access to trade discounts, we’ll gladly pass those perks along whenever possible.

To help set clear expectations, we’ve provided general estimates below based on varying price points. These ranges are meant to offer insight into what you might expect from sourced pieces, depending on your goals.

So how much will it cost to furnish your room?
That depends on your preferred budget and the size of your space. Naturally, larger rooms tend to require larger budgets.

  • Often the largest—and most visible—room in your home, the living room typically requires the most thoughtfully selected pieces. Seating, especially sofas, is often the biggest investment, both in function and in style. You’ll also want to consider layered lighting, functional side tables, and storage that suits your lifestyle.

    Let’s break it down:

    • Chairs (2) — $450 | $$1200 | $$$6000

    • Coffee Table — $250 | $$750 | $$$2500

Common Questions

How does the retainer work for the E-Design 'Garnish' Package?

The 'Garnish' package is our custom design offering. We require a retainer upfront, and all time is billed at $150/hour.
We don’t invoice until the project is complete. All hours are applied against your retainer. Any unused balance is refunded, and any additional time beyond the retainer is invoiced separately.

What if I have multiple rooms to design?

We recommend starting with one room to get a feel for the E-Design process. Once you’re confident it’s a good fit, you can easily expand to additional spaces.

Not sure which package fits your project?

Choose the option that seems closest to your needs—our time is billed at the same rate across packages. We’ll help redirect if your project requires a different scope.

When should I begin the E-Design process?

We suggest starting as early as possible. Ideally, begin at least 4–6 months before any major construction or demolition. This allows time for thoughtful planning, sourcing, and revisions.
